Hi! I’m Hope,
and I’m the founder of Birdsong & Blossom Events.
I've loved planning parties since I can remember. I was the little girl that planned and planned, wanted everyone to have fun, and then felt this huge wave of post-party depression fall over me because, "wait, it's over already?!" When I began planning my wedding I was worried about that post-party letdown. It turned out there was one big difference between those parties in the early years and my wedding: the skill and expertise of my wedding coordinator!
My wedding coordinator felt like my best friend and the sister I never had all rolled into one. She had the answers for everything, and from day one I knew I could rely on her to make my wedding day everything I wanted and more. She was resourceful, reliable, and hilarious to boot! I knew I would be able to enjoy my day and put all the work in her capable hands.
After my wedding was over, the company that coordinated my wedding--eight-time Best of Bride winning The Invisible Hostess--hired little old me. I worked, learned, and grew with Sheena and the girl gang for five years, until she made the happy decision to close her business in 2020. It was then that I decided to launch my own enterprise, Birdsong & Blossom Events. I now have nine years (!) in the Seattle wedding industry under my belt, and have met so many wonderful couples and vendors-turned-friends along the way.
My goal and hope with every event I take on is that the guests of honor will be able to relax, enjoy, and celebrate, with no worries about logistics or whether their guests are having fun, and absolutely no fear of the post-party letdown. I hope to be that sort of “best friend-meets-sister” figure to my couples, meeting them where they are and helping guide them toward the day of their dreams.
I can't wait to meet you!
Get to know me!
The Basics: I’m an INFJ, Enneagram 1, Gemini/Libra/Libra. (If you look these up you’ll note that all of them lend themselves to someone who might like to plan things. Go figure!)
Hobbies & Interests: I have a deep love of music—I studied music at Pacific Lutheran University! I love being outside, whether gardening or hiking. I also love crafts. You can often find me with a crochet hook and ball of yarn when I’m trying to keep myself from scrolling.
Favorite TV Show: The Office is probably my all-time favorite. Ted Lasso was incredible, and most recently I’ve been loving Shrinking on Apple TV.
Favorite Wedding Movie: Oof. Tough one. Bride Wars is an underrated wedding movie, IMO. But I also love The Wedding Singer for a laugh, or Father of the Bride for a classic. Love Steve Martin.
Favorite Way to Spend a (Non-Wedding) Weekend: With my husband and kiddo! You can usually find us at a local playground when the weather is nice. I also love game nights with friends.
Favorite Dessert: Ice cream! Ice Cream Social’s classic Chocolate is my all-time fave.
Human or Fur Babies: Both! Our daughter Virginia is the light of my life, and keeps me on my toes! Our sweet tuxedo cat Figaro passed away last year, but we hope to adopt another cat or dog in the near future.
Favorite Local Restaurant: In Seattle, Pasta Casalinga in Pike Place Market. In the South Sound, it's got to be Playa Azul in Puyallup. Delicious, family-owned, hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant.
Best “OMG I Can’t Believe That Happened!” Wedding Story: I realized moments after the wedding party had walked down the aisle that the groom had left the bride’s ring in its box in his dressing room. I picked it up and ran back to the ceremony site and waited at the door for the officiant to ask for the ring. Cue the look of complete panic on the groom’s face. I then did my best stealthy fast-walk over from the side to hand it to him, and the whole scene had everyone in attendance cracking up. We even have photographic evidence of this classic groom foible. This is still one of my favorite weddings and couples to-date.
Fun Fact: My younger brother has Autism, and he’s honestly my favorite person. I spent many summers growing up volunteering for various summer programs for kids with special needs!
